He is off to the construction site each morning with his lunch and sunscreen (working at 8,000 ft altitude) and notebook of Amheric phrases. During his days working on the CMF compound he is flooded with new experiences.
From women carrying 100 lb bags of cement on their backs to a slaughter of a cow along the side of the road, from donkeys roaming the work site and using the marking stakes as scratching posts to having little cups of coffee after lunch, from needing to mix the cement on the ground to guys using 3 different languages trying to give instructions, from using 2 'baherzaf' eucalyptus sticks and a piece of tin for wheel barrels to trying to think in metric terms and realizing it is a much better measuring system than what we use in the US.
He comes home a dark red/brown color from sun but mostly from the constantly blowing dirt, with a smile on his face saying "It was a good day!"

Isn't is amazing how much we take for granted? We are so proud of what Ron can acomplish. Certainly no time to get bored.
