We are feeling settled in the house we are renting monthly It is open and sunny with lots of windows which I like. There are wood floors, but I could sweep the dust off of them every day. I finally have a bathtub again, but we have been without water for the past 5 days (I did get 1 fast shower in). In this house we have our own phone line but the internet is dial up so it is slow and we get kicked off often. We share a 'seritenya', house help who does our breakfast dishes and does our laundry and cleans every Monday. Having our clothes stiff and crunchy from drying on the clothes line is something new. No TV, can't get 'lost' episodes on the internet outside of the US, and electricity has been off numberous times already.
Sitting on our rock patio with a cup of shi (tea) I smell trash burning, hear local music playing on the street, and see colorful birds and flowers moving in the breeze.
Right now I am happy with this simple home.

Hi: So nice to hear about your home and happy also that you feel comfortable there. I know as a missionary you are not expecting it to be more than home. I know you are a thankful person. God is good and he continues to supply your needs. Love you, Mom
Your first home as an overseas missionary sounds comfortable with only a few minor "adjustments", although the 5 days without water might be classified as a "major" adjustment! Everyday you must be learning something new. That's exciting and will definitely keep you young!! Our prayers are with you both.
We were so happy to hear that you are comfortable in your new home. It must be very interesting and challenging to see just how much you can adjust to a different way of living.
Love you,
Mom and Dad
