How many times have you moved?

Last July we were challenged to set goals for our road to Africa, like when to sell our home and quit our jobs. This was hard since we didn't really know how fast things would happen. It has been especially interesting as I am an organizer and like to try to make things happen.

We put up our condo up for sale 5 months ago thinking it would sell quickly,
it just sold this last week.

My plans were to be done with my long commute to work by last December,
but my final day is February 2nd.

I thought we would be based back in Colorado by Christmas,
we are planning that move mid February.

Our thought was to take our language and cross culture classes in January,
now we are scheduled for March.

This journey so far has been a reminder:
In his heart a man plans his course,
but the Lord determines his steps.

Right now we are in the midst of making plans for the 10th move of our marriage. In the past I have had a good picture of what I was moving to- an apartment or house, a job for one of us, something concrete to connect with. This is a whole new experience for us since during this transition until we depart for Tanzania we will have no home of our own and no jobs as we have known in the past.

This is what I think about-
Leave your country, your people and your father's household
and go to the land I will show you.

This is not the last move we will make in our lives, but it is the most interesting so far.

I love that this move will be the most interesting. No judgements, just comments. I thought about it and realized I have moved 12 times since Vera has been born. wow. seems like a lot, but then it seems like I have been in one place a long time too. how can that be?
