This has been the strangest
year for weather here.
The worst of it is severe wind
and dust for the past month.
This is Anodi trying
to navigate around the center.
It has been so bad that we
need to leave and go to town.
You cannot breathe it in
without coughing.
Shutting up your house
to spare the dust is way HOT.
But even the shut windows
can't really keep it out.
The dust is so thick that
everything feels gritty.
Our dust is fine
like volcano ash.
Cleaning it is with a
wet rag by hand.
And you have to
repeat it every day.
We make foot prints
in the dust on the floors.
You can see
we can't really SEE.
Our usual few days
stretched into over a month.
When we about
ran out of patience,
yesterday God
brought the rains!
