We are back in Africa! It is so wonderful to be here. Our first week has been getting settled into a different house, which is great and a lot of work. All of our things from the other place had been moved before we got back, so we had furniture and boxes of stuff to sort through. One evening we decided to enjoy the upstairs balcony. You can see there is a terrific view, but it is through the security grate that is on every window and opening in every Tanzanian house. It can be in the way but on this day we were glad to have it. Once out we closed the door and realized we were locked out. Great!

It was late in the day so we were pretty much alone. We looked back through the window and could move the screen but the grate on the window prevented us from using that escape route. The view is over peaceful farm land, but it was quiet out there too as every one was at home as they usually are when it gets dark. As we looked through the cross bars it looked like a good way to climb down. So up over the side Ron goes!

Something we thought about later, maybe not good to climb down right where the swinging door is. Too late as Ron is half way down and the door swings and he has to grab on for dear life till it swings back for him to stand on. It was then that he winced, and felt a sting across his left chest muscle. But he did make it, got down and back in the house to unlock the patio door.
We love the patio in the late afternoon after a busy day, but we don't lock that door any more till we go to bed. So glad friends sent along a bunch of ibuprophen to get Ron through his first 'back in Africa' injury.
