We return to Tanzania January 5th. That makes our time back in the states about half over. It is going fast when I think about spending time with our kids. But some days like today I think about our home now which is back in Africa, and I miss it. The familiar feel of our foam mattrice bed inside the mosquito net, the laughter of Ruth who takes care of our house, the cool hard cement floor, our dogs (Wingu & Kivuli) running to the back door for a treat, the pitch dark outside at night, being called 'mama josefu'. All things I had to get used to, but are now a comfort to me.
In some ways I even miss the bumpy ride to town, getting dressed in the night to go outside to the bathroom, beans & rice, the never ending sights & sounds of people and animals walking along the side of the roads, dung beetles dive bombing us in the evenings, even lighting candles when the electricity goes off.
Enjoying this time but holding on to the thoughts of our return to AFRICA.
