Mt. Meru

We look out our back door and see this beautiful mountain every day.

A friend and teacher at the preschool on the center, Olias, took us to see what is up on this mountain not so far from our home.

After a 45 minute drive on typical difficult African roads we arrived in a different world.

Misty fog hung in the air and cold wind brought us shivers.

Here Olias takes us to visit a local Maasai man and his boma.

We had no idea that this hillside was home to so many people living in their traditional tribal ways.

They even have their cows living inside their home along with the rest of the family- really!!

On our way home we stopped to see another surprise, Colobus Monkeys.

They are shy so they usually run from people.

What a treat to get to watch their antics.

Who knew they lived so close to our home.

Mt Meru. Something new for us each day.

Love to share in your experiences through your blog, Jane Ann! Thanks so much for documenting life there so we can be a part of it all with you.

Love and prayers for you both.
