A month of first's

Our first staff Christmas Party!

Here is Lesicar proudly showing off his family. What a fun day sharing food, dancing (it isn't an African party without music and dancing), soccer balls to take home, along with goodies won while playing the cake walk game, and of course pictures.

The kids all loved the balls and the cakes!

Ron's first taste of sour milk!

On a trip out in the bush to talk with some of the church planter students before coming to the school that started January 26th, Ron was given a special food offering, sour milk. He is drinking it out of the gourd used to allow the milk to ferment naturally.

Not his favorite drink but he did not get sick so it was a good day.

This acidic product, the sour milk, can then be kept without going 'bad' as there are not refrigerators/no electricity in the rural parts of Tanzania.

Our first African river trip!

We had family visiting and were able to travel to the Indian Ocean and relax a bit. While boating on the Pangani river we were challenged with a puzzle made from the seeds of the mangrove plant. Here our guide easily put them back together, something none of the rest of us could do.

This part of the country is lush and much different than the dry farming land we usually see each day.

First "Farming God's Way" class was held on the training center. And now we have our first plot of maize growing in God's way. This will be used to teach and train the students on better farming techniques.

Here is our first chicken 'nyumba' house. We had a team come to fund and build it so we can teach the students how to raise 'kuku's' while having this self supporting microenterprise on the center.

And we found our first iced tea, what a treat!

Great photos and way to go Ron on the sour milk! We had warm sour mare's milk in Mongolia and I don't ever want to repeat that experience again!

I love the stories, keep them coming!

You both are such an inspiration! Thank-you for sharing your experiences doing God's work.
