a good book

I picked up a book about Africa for our flight here to Addis Ababa.

"There is no me without you" by Melissa Fey Greene was a great way to discover Ethiopia.

It is a true story about a women's struggle with her daughter's death from AIDS. Her journey goes from deep sorrow after caring for her dying child into love for a group of unwanted AIDS orphans.

After arriving here I soon saw how real this story is; the people, the kids, the poverty, the disease.

Then I had the special opportunity to go to her orphanage, meet her, and hold the children that are her life now.

God has turned her sorrow into laughter.

I am amazed at all you have experienced in the short time you have been in Africa! Thank you for continuing to share with us what God is doing through both of you in Ethiopia. We will continue to pray for your visas for Tanzania but, wow, you are busy "where you are planted" right now!
(We missed you very much over the week-end at Jacob and Stacia's reception! I will send some pictures.)
