It is sad that many of us these days do not anticipate miracles when we ask God to answer our prayers. Part of that I am sure comes from our perceived ability, at least here in America, to take care of most things in our lives ourselves. I love it when I am reminded that God can do the impossible right in front of our eyes.
Recently someone I know had lost an important piece of equipment and had been searching for it for a week. It was picked up from the last job site and was seen by others being placed in one of several vehicles. After searching all the cars and talking to all the people who worked on the project, it appeared to be gone.
So a few of us got to praying for this tool to turn up.
No one involved had been back to that locked building. By this time they were resolved to it being taken and it was going to create a rough time for work in the future. Midst the discouragement and frustration they tried one more thing.
They stopped at the old site just to check and it was there.
After I got the text message that they got it back, I was struck with a thank you Lord happy feeling. We spent time talking about it, thinking back and knowing for sure it was not left where it was found, and wondering how it got back into that locked building.
I believe it was a miracle that cannot be explained.
I also believe miracles happen all around us but we do not see them for what they are. We are independent, controlling, make it happen people who like to take care of everything and have an explanation for each situation. Yet I think God loves to surprise us with the impossible if we would open our eyes to it.
In Africa people ask for, believe in, and expect miracles. Many times it is all they have. You know, that is where God wants us, where all we have is Him.
I can't wait for the surprises God has in store for us when we get there.

Jane Ann,
I, too, believe God works miracles daily yet we all fail to either see or acknowledge them. Thank-you for the reminder to constantly credit God for what He loves to do-perform miracles for the pleasure of His children! I know I am seeing a miracle in action as I share in the experience of the growth and future birth of my first grandchild. Praise God! Love, Nancy
