JAMBO?

Well, we are starting our language learning and I want to say Hello to those of you who do not know Swahili- JAMBO! We are in the middle of our training on techniques to learn another language in the best way we can. We are again in Monument CO at Mission Training International and again it is snowing. But it is beautiful and we are enjoying our time here.

Here is some of what we are learning:

• If this language is going to get learned, I must assume the responsibility to learn it.
• I cannot speak Swahili correctly with an English mouth, I need to learn new sounds.
• Your brain is bigger than you think!
• If I am tempted to say, "I can't do it", I need to say "I can't do it YET."
• Learn another language, get a second soul.
• Language is a social activity.

So far I can say this is interesting, tiring, fun, trying, amusing, challenging, but mostly an adventure.
