When we were coming to Africa our first prayer was to have real friends. We were not surprised when God quickly answered that request. Sosi & Spora have been cherished friends for the past 3 years. We know and love their kids. Have shared many meals & laughs together. And they have met our families as they come to visit. Finally we got to spend time with Sosi's mama. She now recovers from falling into a fire so cannot use her hands much and needs to be carried to get out of the house.
On this day she is waiting for her visitors outside her home. She was one of 8 wives. Lived in a group of houses with other wives of 1 husband. Had 9 kids. She does not know how old she is, but thinks about 300 - HA! Her humor shows as she spends time wondering why she is still alive. She knows Jesus, but wonders why he still wants her around. No homes for the elderly here, family and neighbors take care of each other. That is the African way.
