faces of the BUSH

Ron went to the Bush last week. First trip since returning from the US. It is a hard 3 days, but it is always a reminder of why we are here. We see it in the people. Here is a young man who has been orphaned by disease so he is living with friends He wants to someday teach the younger children of the village. This day he helps Ron rebuild a latrine/choo that has blown down. Don't be fooled by his face, he is not angry, just serious.

Here is a women's meeting after church. They gather to share and learn and support each other, all under a simple tree. This is part of the congregation that is working with CMF to construct a building to use for meetings on Sunday and then as a classroom during the week.

And here is Joseph's mama. She is Maasai. She is maybe 80 years old, they often do not know their age. Ron has a bracelet and I now have a walking stick beaded by her hands. They don't always smile for pictures but she has a warm welcoming heart.

Ron returns tired & dirty & grateful for what we learn from these people.
