I have a good friend who reminded me before I left for Africa that we are told to 'look at the birds of the air. . . and to see how the lilies of the field grow'. The wonders of this earth are meant to be a gift to us.
We have enjoyed the beauty of the wonderful animals that roam this country for sure. But I need to be more aware of something special about this place, there is some kind of flower in bloom every day of the year here.
I want to open my eyes to the creation I get to experience each day. So in March we get the Juanulloa! It is a vine that we noticed growing on the side of our house last summer and thought it would be nice to let grow and cover the white stucco walls. Well I never knew we would get this fun burst of color.
At this time of my life I am just discovering my passion for flowers. I enjoy the smell and colors and shapes, and arranging them to have in my house. I have even thought working in a flower shop would be a dream, maybe someday. For now I will try to share some of the amazing sights of Tanzania throughout the coming year.
