West Wing?

One of my favorite TV shows ever is West Wing. It was about the West Wing of the White House, what happens day to day behind the scenes in the running of the government and the relationships that evolve with people working so closely together. I loved the fast pace, the complexity, the high emotion, and the passion that they felt about what they were doing.

I miss watching it.

Linda, my friend who we live with till we go, has the entire set of shows for all 7 seasons. I have had so much fun watching from the beginning to the end, the old ones and episodes I missed.

What is it that I liked so much?

• I was always learning something
• people were pulling together for something they believed in
• their job was extremely difficult but they loved it
• they were willing to take risks and try things
• laughter was common in this high pressure world
• figuring out how to make things work was what they did
• helping each other was just what they did

I might have liked working in that environment.

Maybe being a missionary will be something like it.
