Start in the Middle?

In the second half of my life I am beginning another adventure and want to take you along. I will try to put into words what happens when a 50 something couple decides to take a Journey Into Africa.

Growing up on a farm in Iowa, becoming a nurse, and finally moving to Colorado to ski with friends was my path to my husband, Ron. He grew up in the mountains hunting, fishing and playing baseball all while learning the art of being a carpenter.

We got married and lived in Arizona with our kids where we had some hard times with money and addictions. Friendships in a small group and rediscovering the forgiveness and love of Jesus got us through those days. Moving back to Colorado for our kids high school years we found life long friends and a home that we thought we would be in forever.

When our children were grown we started traveling into other countries to use our skills of nursing and carpentry to help others. Those times hooked us and we found it hard to be satisfied doing anything else. Ron's job led us to the beautiful Northwest but we still had that dream of serving people in other cultures.

So we took a trip and discovered Tanzania- now here we go...
